Make Bedroom Tax Cameron’s Poll Tax: Join The Summit This Saturday

Opposition to devastating benefit cuts is spreading across the country.  A protest march in Bootle, protest at Manchester town hall, welfare ministers hounded, and large angry meetings in towns and cities across Britain are organising against the Bedroom Tax and other benefit cuts.

Hundreds will be at the Benefit Justice Campaign Summit this Saturday 9th, to unite campaigns and trade unionists  against these unjust benefit cuts.

Speakers include Robert Buckley, Newcastle Tenants Federation chair, Bakers Union president Ian Hodson on opposing Workfare, Liverpool and Leeds anti Bedroom Tax campaigns, Disabled People Against Cuts, PCS and Unite trade unions and barrister Liz Davies.

Linda Burnip of Disabled People Against Cuts, says: ‘Many disabled people have already been devastated by benefit cuts, that are now going to hit millions more.  We need to fight this together, to halt all the Government’s Welfare Reform attacks.’

Michael Bradley from the Right To Work campaign, says: ‘Many are starting to see through the Tories’ divide and rule talk of so-called “strivers” and ” shirkers”. The Summit will be a fantastic opportunity to build a fight that can beat back these attacks’

Eileen Short of Defend Council Housing says: ‘The Bedroom tax is about money, not homes.  No-one should be forced from their home. We Can’t Pay and Won’t Move. The answer is to cut rents not benefits, and build a new generation of council housing.’
