Senior civil servant overseeing Universal Credit gets £20,000 bonus




‘A report by the National Audit Office, published yesterday, found that the Universal Credit has failed to deliver “value for money” and that there are “considerable weaknesses” in the department’s control over the scheme.

A total of £40million spent on IT for the project has already been written off, while a further £91million spent on software will effectively be defunct within the next five years.

However, despite the failings the Department for Work and Pensions annual report and accounts for 2012-13 show that Sir Devereux was given a £20,000 bonus.’
