UN rapporteur for Disability visit to UK. Come and tell your story, November 25th 1.30 pm


On Monday 25th November (1.30pm to 4pm) the Just Fair Consortium are hosting a Testimony Session with the UN Special Rapporteur on Disability (Shuaib Chalklen) in Resource for London (356 Holloway Road, London, N7 6PA – please see directions below).

The event will enable disabled people to present personal stories of how they have been affected by austerity measures, cuts to social care and welfare reform, including Disability Living Allowance/Personal Independence Payment, Universal Credit, closure of the Independent Living Fund, removal of the spare room subsidy (‘bedroom tax’), Employment Support Allowance and Work Capability Assessment and the Work Programme.

Getting There

By London Underground:
 Take the Piccadilly line to Holloway Road station. On leaving the station turn left and walk under the railway bridge for 5 minutes. Resource for London is on the opposite side of the road and can be reached by using the pedestrian crossing. (please check with Transport for All if you need an accessible tube station on 020 7737 2339)

By bus: Buses 4, 17, 29, 43, 153, 253, 259, 271, 279 and X43 stop within a short walk of Resource for London. Also there are mobility buses available in the area, these are numbers 920, 921, 923 and 927.
