£9.69 'bedroom tax' demand for Inverness MS sufferer

The Westminster government has faced further calls to scrap the so-called "bedroom tax" with a warning that it has the potential to become as unpopular as the poll tax in Scotland.

Although some exemptions have been announced, Highland Council is the latest local authority to express its concerns.

One of its Inverness tenants, an MS sufferer, has been told she will have to pay £9.69 for her spare room.
Mrs Papworth's husband and main carer said the room is essential for him to care for his wife properly.
