Government report: poverty not caused by being poor (this is not satire)

(not satire – it’s the coalition government!)

The government has produced a report which has concluded that poverty is not the result of not having enough money.

No really – I’m not joking.

It’s all here – in this report compiled by Iain Duncan-Smith’s Department of Work and Pensions:

A consultation on better measures of child poverty

As a satirist I am outraged!

On behalf of UK satirists and political sketch writers everywhere, I demand an immediate end to the coalition’s uncompromising drive to caricature itself relentlessly.

Whatever next?

Is the government going to start claiming old age is self-inflicted and not caused by the passing of time?

Or that disability is not caused by being disabled?

Oops – I nearly forgot. Duncan-Smith has already got ATOS proclaiming that one.
