‘David Cameron is facing a public revolt over his support for the HS2 rail project, a new poll shows, as the extent of the line’s impact on England’s rural landscape is disclosed.
A Telegraph/ICM survey found that just 3 per cent of voters believe the £50 billion high-speed link between London and the North will be delivered on time and on budget.
More than two thirds want the Government to scrap HS2 or halt the plan while other options are considered. Only one in five agrees with the Prime Minister that HS2 is “essential” for Britain.’
