A WOMAN who has degenerative diseases says she feels victimised by the benefit system after she was incorrectly assessed as fit to work – twice.
On both occasions Laurine Clifford – a former pub landlady and photographer – has had to appeal the decision taken by the Government’s Department of Work and Pensions
And on both occasions she won.
The mum-of-one, who had to fight to get Disability Living Allowance and Employment Support Allowance, says lengthy appeal processes have left her penniless and contributed to her stress and depression.
